About 6 miles north of the Las Vegas strip you will find an oasis in the desert, Aliante Hotel and Casino. This is an uncensored review. We were not compensated for this stay. This is not a sponsored post.

Pros and Cons
Aliante hotel offers complimentary valet service. We chose to self-park anyway because the self-park lot was about 100ft from the front door of the hotel, so it didn’t take any effort to walk to our car ourselves whenever we needed it.
The valet staff were the friendliest of all the staff we encountered at Aliante.
The ground floor on the hotel side is a conference center.
The entrance to the hotel pool (open with day passes to the general public) is also on this side of the hotel.
We requested a King room and were greeted with two queen size beds.
The room was designed in muted colors and soft fabrics. There was a refrigerator inside one of the cupboards – which turns out to be rare in the world of Las Vegas hotels.
We found a fast and functional ice machine on our floor – perfect for recovery icing following a long run or two.
There were three phones in the room, including one in the bathroom – only one of them was functional, however.
The bathroom had the largest and deepest bath and shower combo I’ve ever seen. I think it was almost 2 1/2 – 3 feet. I really needed help to climb in and out.
Remote work is my jam. I spent almost one and half days working by the pool. Late on the first day, I encountered a pool attendant who was helpful in showing me how I could access electricity. I enjoyed some drinks and food by the pool and really got some good work done. As a hotel guest, I could use a daybed by the pool (worth $50/day). The cabanas looked great, but as it was just me the daybed worked out well. If you have a group of people, definitely look at booking a cabana. If you want to book a cabana, even if you are a hotel guest, you need to book on the hotel website. This seemed to be a point of confusion among the staff themselves and honestly seemed overly complicated.
The pool bar was well stocked with frozen pina colada and margaritas on tap.
We visited the buffet a couple of mornings during our stay – with a player’s card (including tax) you are looking at just over $7 per person for breakfast. The omelette station was a particular favorite as it was made right in front of me.
Something else to be aware of is that even if you are a married couple you will need to make sure you are both on the reservation as registered guests. I was not on our reservation and thought I may have misplaced my key one afternoon when Dwight was away working. It was a good thing I found it because after I inquired about getting a replacement room key and showing them my identification, which clearly showed my last name was that of the registered room guest, I was told they could not give me a replacement key, only him.
Verdict on Aliante Hotel and Casino
With improved customer service, Aliante would be a real winner. As it is, for the price, the convenience of the location, and that the hotel is co-located but separate from the gaming area of the casino, it suited our needs perfectly.
Would we stay at Aliante again?
we might. It won’t be because of the customer service, instead, it will because of the location (if we need to be in the northern part of the city again for work), budget-friendliness ($109/night), and the fact that you do not need to walk through the casino to walk in and out of the hotel or to get to the pool.
